HMS Good Hope

On 1 November 1914 the West Indies Squadron under Rear Admiral Sir Christopher Cradock gave battle to a superior German force under Vice Admiral von Spee at Coronel off the coast of Chile (Battle of Coronel). There was a high proportion of Naval reservists among the crews of the squadron. The cruisers HMS Monmouth and HMS Good Hope were lost with all hands.
