Sergeant 61672 JAMES HENRY CHARLES WORSELL, ‘A’ Battery, 94th Brigade Royal Field Artillery died of wounds on 11 October 1916, aged 23.

He is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery. Etaples, 20 miles South of Boulogne, was the site of numerous training camps and hospitals.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the war memorial at St Bartholomew’s church, Sydenham.

Details:
He was born in Beckenham, the son of Frederick and Clara Worsell, of 12, Mount Ash Road, Sydenham. He was educated at Sydenham Hill Road School.
