Gunner 67738 ALFRED WILLIAM WOOLDRIDGE of 65 Battery, Royal Field Artillery was killed in action on 13 September 1914. The 13 September saw the BEF cross the River Aisne and go back on the offensive after the long retreat from Mons to the Marne.

He is buried in Vailly Bridge Cemetery near the River Aisne.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered in the Book of Remembrance at St Saviour, Forest Hill.

Details:
He was born in Hastings and enlisted in New Cross.
