Private Sidney Winter, 20th (County of London) Battalion (Blackheath and Woolwich), London Regiment was killed in action on the 23rd March 1918, aged 20. He enlisted at Blackheath, arriving in France on the 9th October 1915. Prior to his death he was wounded twice whilst at the front.

He is buried and remembered in Fins New British Cemetery, Sorel Le Grand, France.

He is remembered on the war memorials at St Andrew's Church, Catford and on the Roll of honour to the 20th London Regiment

Details:
He was the son of Henry and Annie Winter of 74 Sandhurst Road, Catford, and was born in New Cross. At the time of his death his father was still serving overseas, he was the brother of Harold.
