Wilton, Raymond Howard

War Service:
Flying Officer (Air Bomber) RAYMOND HOWARD WILTON, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, was killed in action on 13 June 1944 while serving with 15 Squadron. His Lancaster LS-R took off from RAF Mildenhall at 2312 on 12 June to bomb Gelsenkirchen. It was hit by anti aircraft fire and crashed near the target.

All the crew are buried in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the Sydenham South Suburban Gas Works war memorial.

Details:
He was the son of William and Margaret Wilton of Hayes, Bromley.
