Lieutenant WALTON RONALD WILSON of the Royal Army Medical Corps died on 12 July 1916 of wounds sustained the previous day. At the time of his death he was serving as Medical Officer to the 2nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders.

He is buried in Bertrancourt Military Cemetery on the Somme.

He is remembered in the Book of Remembrance in the church of St Saviour, Forest Hill.

Details:
He was the only son of Dr. and Mrs. W. Wilson, of 237, Stanstead Road, Forest Hill, London. He was educated at Epsom College and went on to take his BA at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He completed his medical studies at St Batholomew’s Hospital, qualifying in October 1915. In April 1916 he married Emily Constance Mottershall, of "Castle Mount," St. Valerie Road, Bournemouth.

He had been in the Officer Training Corps at school and was a sergeant in the OTC at Cambridge. He had shot for his school at Bisley,represented Cambridge several times and was an active member of the Lee and Lewisham Rifle Club.
