War Service:
Rifleman 302439 DAVID WILSON of ‘A’ Company, 2/5 battalion London Regiment (London Rifle Brigade) died on 1 November 1917 of wounds sustained on 29 October near Poelcapelle.

He is buried in Dozinghem Military Cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial at St Dunstan’s College in Catford and in the pages of the History of the Old Dunstonians Rugby Football Club. He was one of eight Old Dunstonians who died in the war selected to have a house named after them.

Details:
He was the son of David and Isabella Wilson of Forest Hill. He was educated at Rathfern Road Elementary School and St Dunstan’s College Catford which he attended from 1906 – 1910. He was an all round athlete, with particular skills in running, lacrosse and rugby.
