Williams, Charles Frederick

War Service: Charles Frederick Williams served as a Private with the 3rd Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers and his service number was 20654. He died on 12th November 1917, aged 28, at the Military Hospital, Lewisham.

Location of Memorial: He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details: Charles Frederick Williams was born c1891 in Canning Town, Middlesex. In 1901 he was recorded living at 21 St Thomas Road, Camberwell with his parents, Arthur Henry and Jessie, and his siblings Albert, Arthur and Victoria.

In 1911 he was recorded living at 10 Pepler Road, Camberwell with his parents and his siblings Albert Edward Victor and Jessie. He was employed as a postman.

He married Elsie Lily Capon 28 March 1915 at Christ Church, Camberwell. At this time he was living at 72 Clifton Crescent.
