Annie Wilkins, Auxiliary Fire Service of Cressingham Road, Lewisham.

She was awarded the BEM with Bessie Wulbern, also with the Auxiliary Fire Service.

They stayed on alone at the ATS sub-station in Bush Road, Bermondsey after it had been set alight by incendiary bombs and continued to relay messages and direct fire crews to where they were needed. When ordered to leave they thumbed a lift to Deptford Fire Station, where they attended blinded and burned firemen who were laid out on the floor awaiting ambulances.
