Flight Lieutenant CHARLES FRANK HORACE WIESSNER Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve died on 11 December 1943, aged 30.

During the Second World War Bloemfontein was one of the centres to which pilots were sent to learn to fly under the Empire Air Training Scheme.

Location of Memorial:
He is buried in Bloemfontein (Hamilton) War Cemetery. He is remembered on the Trumpington War Memorial and on the memorial at Lewisham United Reformed Church.

Details:
He was born in Greenwich in the spring of 1913, the son of Charles and Marie Wiessner. He was educated at Cambridge where he secured an MA and MB. He was the husband of Josephine Ethel Wiessner, of Trumpington, Cambridgeshire.
