War Service: James Walter Weight served as a sergeant with 106 Squadron Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and his service number was 940463. He died on 22nd September 1943, aged 22.

Location of Memorial:He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details: James Walter Weight was born between July and September 1921 in Greenwich. His parents were Thomas W Weight and Lilian Weight (nee Willimott). He had three brothers; Thomas H F who died in infancy, Thomas and Frederick G.

He married Maisie D Thompson in 1941 and they appear to have had one daughter, Doreen.
