Lieutenant JOHN GEORGE WALLACE of 38th Battalion Eastern Ontario Regiment, Canadian Infantry died of wounds on 18 November 1916. He enlisted In Bermuda on 31 July 1915 and on 8 August was commissioned into the 38th Battalion, going with them to France in November 1916.

He is buried in Regina Trench Cemetery, Grandcourt.

He is remembered on the war memorial at St Dunstan’s College in Catford and in the pages of the History of the Old Dunstonians Rugby Football Club.

Details:
He was born in Glasgow on 14 November 1884, the son John and Mary Wallace. He was educated at Hutcheson school in Glasgow and then attended St Dunstan’s College in Catford from 1896 to 1900. He went to Canada in 1907 where he was employed by Andrew Clements & Son of William Street, Montreal. He married Annie M. Mahoney , of 511, West 169th St., New York.
