War Service:
Private 8926 JAMES ERNEST WALKLING 1st Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers died on 17 July 1916.

He is buried in La Nouville British cemetery, Corbie. Most of the graves in La Nouville cemetery are of men who died in No. 21 Casualty Clearing Station nearby.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at Holy Trinity church, Sydenham.

Details:
He was born in Lewisham in the spring of 1887 and married Emily E Stevens in Camberwell in the summer of 1915. They lived at 53 Devonshire Road, Forest Hill.
