Private 9162 FRANK Goldsmith WACHER of the 20th ( Fife and Forfar ) Company, 6th battalion, 20th Company Imperial Yeomanry, was killed at Rietvlei near Pretoria on February 28 1901 and was buried with full military honours on the banks of the Mooi River aged 22. His death was reported in The Times of 5 March 1901 and in the Askean magazine.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the Haberdasher’s Askes School South African War memorial.

Details:
The company arrived in South Africa on 20 March 1900.
