Sergeant (Observer) HENRY HERBERT WILLIAM VINTER RAFVR of 13 Squadron RAF was killed in action on 26 June 1942. At 23:56 on 25 June Bristol Blenheim Z6084 took off from RAF Wattisham on a night intruder operation to attack the German night fighter squadrons based at the airfield of St Truiden. At 01:38 it was shot down by a nightfighter and crashed at Houwaart in Belgium. Z6084 was one of two 13 Squadron aircraft lost on intruder operations that night.

He was reported Missing in The Times of 10 September 1942 and Missing Now Presumed Dead on 12 August 1943.

Sergeant Vinter and the other two crew members are buried in Houwaart churchyard.
