Tysoe, Norman Harold


War Service:

Second Radio Officer NORMAN HAROLD TYSOE died on 19 October 1941 when the tanker mv Inverlee was torpedoed 30 miles off Cape Spartel near Tangier. He was 21. Twenty crew and one gunner were lost on the tanker.

Location of Memorial:

He is remembered on the Tower Hill Memorial and on the memorial at Christ’s College, Blackheath.

He was born in Greenwich in the spring of 1920, the son of Harold and Stella Tysoe, of Kew.
