Turner, Robert James

Dates: c.1891-1918

War Service: Robert James Turner served as a Private with the Army Pay Corps (Whitehall) and his service number was 23325. He died of sickness in Nottingham on 21st November 1918, aged 27.

Location of Memorial: He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details: Robert James Turner married Elizabeth Annie Carpenter on 1st May 1915 at St Johns Church, Deptford. According to his marriage certificate, he was living at 24 Oscar street and was employed as a docks policeman. His father was Robert James Turner and he was employed as a motor man.

Following Robert Turner's death, his widow, Elizabeth Annie, married Walter Philip Trew in 1920.
