Private 6018832 DOUGLAS VICTOR TRIMMINGS of 1st battalion Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry died as a prisoner of war on 28 September 1940. The 1st Ox & Bucks took part in the defence of the Ypres-Commines Canal between 26-28 May 1940 and were eventually evacuated to Dunkirk, having suffered heavy losses.
He is buried in Poznan Old Garrison cemetery, Poland.

He was the son of William and Alice Trimmings, of Belvedere, Kent.
