Private ALFRED GEORGE CATTLE TOWNSEND of 1/20th battalion London Regiment died on 25 September 1915, aged 22.

He is buried and remembered in Cabaret Rouge British cemetery, Souchez.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorials at Goldsmith’s College, New Cross and Addey and Stanhope School, Deptford and also on the 20th London Regiment Roll of Honour.

Details:
He was the only son of Edith Townsend, of 300, Wightman Road, Hornsey, and the late George C. Townsend. He was a school master.
