Toplis, Charles Claude Martineau


War Service:
Rifleman 45208 Claude Charles Martineau Toplis of 107 Trench Mortar Battery died of wounds on 16 October 1918, aged 25. He had previously served with 15th (Service) battalion Royal Irish Rifles, both units being part of the 107th Brigade of the 36th (Ulster) Division.

He is buried in Duhallows Advanced Dressing Station cemetery

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at St Cyprian’s church, Brockley.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Toplis, of Brockley.
