Station Officer ERNEST ANDREW TOOKE of the London Fire Brigade died of his wounds due to enemy action at Church Down School, Downham on 8 October 1940.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the Roll of Honour at the church of St John the Baptist, South End.

Details:
He was 41 years old, the son of Alfred and Elisabeth Tooke, of Southwold, Suffolk. He married Edith Vaughan of Cranbrook in 1928 and they lived at 388 Bromley Road.
