War Service:
Private 1747 PERCY WILLIAM THURSTON of 1st/7th (City of London) Battalion, London Regiment was killed in action on 25 September 1915, the first day of the Battle of Loos.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at Brownhill Road Central School.

Details:
He was 19, having been born in the spring of 1896, the son of Percy Grantley Thurston and Mary Jane Thurston, of 33, Fordel Road, Catford.
