Private 282893 HENNIKER ERNEST THORP of 1/3rd battalion London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) was killed in action on 16 August 1917, aged 30. He had previously served with the 4th London Regiment.

He has no known grave and he is remembered on the Menin Gate in Ypres

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial of the Sydenham, Forest Hill & District Tradesmen’s Benefit Society.

Details:
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henniker Thorp, of 4, Rojack Rd., Forest Hill, London. In the autumn of 1916 he married Mary Ellen Sayer and they lived at 140, Halham Rd., Forest Hill.
