Private SYDNEY REGINALD THOMPSON of 1/28th (County of London) battalion the London Regiment (Artists Rifles) died of wounds on 17 January 1918, aged 30.

He is buried in Mont Huon Military Cemetery, Le Treport. Le Treport, on the coast near Dieppe, was an important centre for hospitals and convalescent camps.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial at Blackheath Congregational Church.

Details:
He was the son of Henry and Rosa Thompson of Blackheath and husband of Mary Maud Thompson of 23, Manor Lane Terrace, Lee. They married in Lewisham in the spring of 1909.
