Tennant, Robert Lewis

Dates: 1894-1918

War Service: Robert Lewis Tennant served as a gunner with the Royal Field Artillery and his service number was L/32148. He died on 29th September 1918 in the Freemasons war hospital, London of wounds related to gas poisoning, aged 24.

Location of Memorial: He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details: Robert Lewis Tennant was born on 29th September 1894 and baptised 21st October 1894 at Emmanuel Camberwell. His parents were Robert Lewis and Annie and they lived at 99 Waterloo Street. His father was employed as a carman.

In 1911 he was recorded lodging at 88 Blackfriars Road and he was employed as a Telegraphist messenger.
