Private S/10883 JOHN ALFRED STURMAN of 1st battalion The Buffs (East Kent Regiment) was killed in action on 31 December 1915. He enlisted at the age of 17 ½.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate in Ypres.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial at the parish church of St Mary, Lewisham.

Details:
He was the son of Noah Sturman and the late Mrs. Sturman. He was born and lived in Lewisham. When he enlisted he gave his occupation as farm labourer
