War Service:
Private S/6557 GEORGE JAMES STRINGMAN of 2nd battalion The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment) was killed in action on . He went to France on 11 November 1914.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Le Touret memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the Le Touret memorial and on the war memorial at St Luke’s church, Evelyn Street, Deptford.

Details:
He was born in Greenwich in the spring of 1897.
