War Service:
Able Seaman HERBERT NORTH STOESSIGER of Hawke Battalion, Royal Naval Division died on 20 June 1915.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Helles memorial on the Southern tip of the Gallipoli Peninsula.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the memorial at Haberdashers' Aske’s school, New Cross.

Details:
Born 13 November 1892 in Holborn registration District. Son of Alexander Goodwin Stoessiger, watchmaker and wholesale watch importer and Emily Louisa nee North. Eldest of four children. He worked for his father.
