Private 2639 CECIL FAY STOCKBRIDGE of 1/20th ( Blackheath and Woolwich) battalion London Regiment was killed in action on 24 May 1916, aged 19. He enlisted in Lewisham.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the on the memorial in Chiesman’s department store which formerly stood in Lewisham High Street on the site now occupied by the police station. He is also remembered on the 20th London Regiment Roll of Honour.

Details:
He was the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Stockbridge, of Blackmore End, Braintree, Essex. He lived in Blackheath.
