Second Lieutenant FREDERICK LESLIE STARLING of the 3rd Battalion the London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) died on 13 September 1916, aged 19.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

Location of Memorial:
His name also appeared on the memorial at Malvern House School, Lewisham Park, which was destroyed in an air raid during the Second World War.

Details:
He was the son of William and Louisa Frances Starling, of 46, Lewisham Park, Lewisham, London. He was educated at Christ's Hospital, Horsham.
