War Service:
Sergeant (Air Bomber) ERNEST STANLEY, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, was killed on 22 June 1943 while serving with 619 Squadron. He was 22.
Lancaster PG-H took off from RAF Woodhall Spa at 2323 on 21 June 1943 to bomb Krefeld but crashed near Helmond in Holland.

He is buried in Jonkerbos War Cemetery in Holland.

He is also remembered on the Sydenham South Suburban Gas Works war memorial.

Details:
He was the son of Ernest and Florence Stanley, of Sydenham.
