Sapper THOMAS SAMUEL STANHOPE of the Railway Operating Division of the Royal Engineers died on 4 January 1918, aged 32.

He is buried in Brockley Cemetery and and his name appears on the screen wall which bears the names of those whose graves are not marked by headstones.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the war memorials at the Mazawattee Tea Company in Deptford and the church of St James, Hatcham.

Details:
He was the son of William Stanhope, of South Bermondsey and husband of Clara Maria Stanhope of 78, Milton Court Rd., New Cross.
