Standen, Leonard Alfred Charles


War Service:
Sergeant (Wireless Operator/Air Gunner) LEONARD ALFRED CHARLES STANDEN Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve was killed on 22 July 1942 while serving with 115 Squadron.
At 2349 on 21 July Wellington KO-B took off from RAF Marham to bomb Duisberg. The aircraft crashed just outside Eindhoven in Holland, killing all those on board. This was one of three 115 Squadron aircraft lost on this operation.

The crew are buried in Eindhoven (Woensel) General Cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
Leonard Standen is remembered on the memorial at St John’s Presbyterian Church, Forest Hill.
