Squires, Richard Alfred Harry


RICHARD ALFRED HARRY SQUIRES died in an air raid at ‘Hethersett’ Gatton Road, Reigate on 6 November 1940, aged 16.

Location of Memorial:
He is buried in Reigate cemetery and remembered on the war memorial at St Augustine’s church, Grove Park.

He was the son of Mr. A. W. Squires, of 199 Baring Road, Grove Park. He had been evacuated from St Dunstan’s in Catford. While in Reigate he had joined the Home Guard. His brother Michael died in Cyprus in 1947 while serving with the Royal Army Service Corps.
