Trooper 7954409 WALTER FREDERICK SPENCER of the Staffordshire Yoemanry died on 23 March 1945, aged 37. On 23 March the Yeomanry in their Sherman DD amphibious tanks took part in Operation Plunder, the crossing of the River Rhine.

He is buried in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery.

He is remembered on the Sydenham South Suburban Gas Works war memorial.

Details:
He was the son of Charles and Alice Spencer and husband of Evelyn Florence Spencer, of Hayes, Bromley.
