Gunner CHARLES CECIL HILL SPENCER of 265 Seige Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery died on 6 September 1917, aged 24.

He is buried in Bedford House Cemetery near Ypres.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the Lewisham Borough Council staff Roll of Honour.

Details:
He was the son of Charles and Ada Spencer, of 42 Vancouver Road, Catford. He was employed as Senior Assistant Librarian in Hither Green Library, where he had worked since November 1907.
