Private 49423 HENRY GEORGE SPALDING of 6th battalion Northamptonshire Regiment was killed in action on 31 July 1918, aged 18. He went to France in April 1918.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at the church of St James, Hatcham.

Details:
He was the son of Arthur and C. F. Spalding, of 2, Chubworthy Street, Woodpecker Road, New Cross.
