Gunner 11/1968 JOHN VICTOR SIGN of the New Zealand Field Artillery died on 22 August 1918, aged 22.

He is buried and remembered in Bagneux British cemetery, Gezaincourt.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorials at Lee Church of England School and Blackheath Congregational Church.

Details:
He was born in Lewisham in the spring of 1895, the son of Thomas and Annie Sign who later moved to Cambray Cottage, Chislehurst Road, Orpington. His brother Charles died on 25 August 1916 while serving with 2/20th London Regiment.
