Private 44211 STUART GOWER SHERRY of 862 Area Employment Company of the Labour Corps died on 12 August 1918 from wounds sustained in an air raid. He enlisted in Liverpool at the age of 39 and had previously served with the King's (Liverpool Regiment).

He is buried in Les Baraques Military Cemetery, Sangatte near Calais.

He is remembered on the war memorial of the Sydenham, Forest Hill & District Tradesmen’s Benefit Society.

He was the husband of Helena Sherry.
