Driver STANLEY GUY SEAL of 290 Brigade Royal Field Artillery died of wounds on 4 November 1917, aged 27.

Location of Memorial:
He is buried in Mendinghem Cemetery, Belgium. There were three Casualty Clearing Stations in this area and the troops nicknamed them Bandaghem, Mendinghem and Dozinghem. He is remembered locally on the war memorials at St Peter’s church, Brockley and the Sydenham, Forest Hill & District Tradesmen’s Benefit Society. He is also named on the memorial to the 91 and 139 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery in St Swithun’s church, Hither Green and on the Lewisham Council Staff War Memorial

He was the son of Sarah Seal, of 94, Nelgarde Rd., Catford and the late James Seal.
