Sergeant ARCHIBALD JOHN SCOONES of ‘D’ Battery, 290 Brigade Royal Field Artillery was killed in action on 23 March 1918, aged 31.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial to the 91 and 139 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery in St Swithun’s church, Hither Green, and on the war memorial at St Laurence, Catford.

Details:
He was born in Camberwell in the spring of 1887. He was the son of Edward and Kate Scoones, of Oak Lodge, Bray Rd., Maidenhead, Berks.
