Second Lieutenant WALTER FREDERICK SALISBURY of the 1/28th Battalion London Regiment (Artists' Rifles) died on 30 December 1917, aged 27.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered in St Peter Church Brockley on a private memorial and also appeared on the memorial at Malvern House School, Lewisham Park, which was destroyed in an air raid during the Second World War.

Details:
He was born in Lewisham in the summer of 1890. He was the son of Walter S. and Amelia Salisbury, of "Arnwood", Warwick Rd., Thorpe Bay, Essex.
He married Isobel Phyllis Mary Lister in the spring of 1917. They lived at 1 Hilly Fields Crescent, Brockley.
