War Service:
Private S/8956 RICHARD SAINT of 1st battalion Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment) died on 23 April 1915 in a hastily improvised counter attack to prevent the Germans retaking Hill 60. The battalion lost 101 killed, wounded and missing.

He has no known grave and is remembered on the Menin Gate in Ypres.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the war memorial at the church of St Catherine, Hatcham.

He was 19 years old, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Saint, of 4, Tolhurst St., Brockley.
