Sadgrove, James Thomas

War Service:
Lance Corporal 300080 JAMES THOMAS SADGROVE went to France in 1914 with 1st/5th Battalion the London Regiment (London Rifle Brigade). He died on 6 September 1916, aged 23.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

Location of Memorial:
James is remembered together with his brother Leonard on the memorial at Lewisham United Reformed Church.

Details:
He was born in Greenwich in the summer of 1893, the son of James Henry and Louisa Blanche Sadgrove, of 24 Brandram Road, Lewisham. His younger brother Leonard died on 7 September 1916.
