War Service:
Private 664 JAMES PATRICK RUSH of 5th (service) battalion Connaught Rangers was killed on 28 August 1915.
On 9 July 1915 the battalion sailed from Devonport and arrived in Mudros, Greece on about 25th. It landed on Anzac Beach, Gallipoli on 6 August. On 28th August the battalion took part in the attack on the Turkish positions on Hill 60 and sustained very heavy casualties. It remained on the peninsula until 30 September when it arrived back in Mudros.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial.

He is remembered on the war memorial at the church of St Luke, Deptford..
