Private G/17178 ALFRED CHARLES RUMMERY of 12th battalion East Surrey Regiment died of wounds on 20 September 1917 aged 35. He had originally enlisted in the Grenadier Guards.

He is buried in Larch Wood (Railway Cutting) Cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at the church of St James, Hatcham.

Details:
He was the son of John and Martha Rummery, of Woodpecker Road, New Cross. His previous occupation was 'law writer'.
