Private 49277 PERCY ALFRED ROWLAND of the 6th (Service) Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment died on 24 April 1918, aged 18.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Pozières Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the memorial at the church of St Michael and All Angels, Sydenham.

Details:
He was born in Sydenham, the son of Alfred D. and Annie E. Rowland of 162, Adamsrill Road, Lower Sydenham. Before enlisting he was employed by the South Eastern & Chatham Railway Company as a messenger.
