Rifleman 305671 WILLIAM GEORGE ROLES of 1/5th battalion, the London Regiment (London Rifle Brigade) died on 12 October 1918, aged 39.

He is buried in Chapel Corner Cemetery, Sauchy-Lestree.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the war memorial at Haberdashers' Aske's School in New Cross and at the church of St James, Hatcham.

Details:
He was born in Brockley, the son of George and Eliza Ellen Roles. He married Sarah Charlotte Stanton in Newbury in the spring of 1909. They lived at 13, Hawkins Crescent, Harrow-on-the-Hill.
