Private 2002 JAMES BEDE RITSON of 1/20th (Blackheath and Woolwich) battalion, London Regiment was killed in action on 27 September 1915.
He has no known grave and is remembered on the Loos Memorial.
Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the rolls of honour of the 20th London Regiment and St Mark’s church, Clarendon Rise whose roll is now displayed in St Stephen’s church.
Details:
He was 21 years old, the son of Ernest George Ritson. He was born in South Shields and lived at 12 Eastdown Park, Lewisham.
