War Service:
Lieutenant GEORGE JOHN RIDLER of Anson Battalion, Royal Naval Division was killed on 26 March 1918.
According to his obituary in The Times of 5 April 1918 he died “while bravely defending his position against overwhelming numbers of the enemy.”

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the memorial at Haberdashers' Aske's school, New Cross.

Details:
He was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs John Ridler of Brockley. In the summer of 1915 he married Beatrice Langsford of Cricklewood.
